AJ & Co Lawyers Strengthens Corporate Advisory Practice with Two Partner Appointments

AJ & Co Lawyers is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrew Thompson and Tiffany Lucas as Partners, marking a significant milestone in the firm's national expansion and reinforcing the depth of its Corporate Advisory practice across Queensland and Victoria.

Andrew Thompson isn't just a lawyer who understands business - he's lived it. Years as a senior consultant in Accenture's Communications and Technology practice gave him a front-row seat to strategy and operations at the highest level, and nearly 20 years in law - across tech and data, food and beverage, and agribusiness - have sharpened that edge ever since. Few lawyers read a deal the way he does.

He cuts straight to the commercial heart of a matter: M&A, corporate restructuring, off-market deals, capital raising, shareholder and JV agreements. He also handles pre-litigation shareholder disputes, tech and IP, ICT outsourcing, and privacy and data security. His track record includes a $270 million dealership group acquisition for a global automotive logistics giant, and a landmark deal for Australia's second largest disability employment provider.

Tiffany Lucas is the lawyer clients keep coming back to - and keep sending others to. A decade-plus across Australia and the US, deep in M&A, governance and corporate advisory, with hundreds of deals under her belt from $5 million to $500 million. Corporates, SMEs, family groups, high net worth individuals, not-for-profits - same rigour, same instinct, every time.

She has a gift for spotting what actually matters in a deal. Recent highlights: a $250 million restructure for a major dealership group, a landmark acquisition for Australia's second largest disability employment provider, and the sale of a specialist tech company to an ASX-listed wealth advisory group. Beyond deals, she guides private clients, family succession, family office and philanthropic structuring, and not-for-profits. Off the clock, she's Board Chair of Arts Project Australia, a Non-Executive Director of the Royal Children's Hospital Foundation, and President of the Royal Children's Hospital Auxiliaries.

Together, Andrew and Tiffany give AJ & Co's Corporate Advisory practice a rare one-two punch - his operational, in-the-room commercial instinct paired with her transactional range and deep client trust. One reads the business, the other reads the deal. Between them, there's no stage of a company's life - deal, dispute, succession or structuring - they can't take on.

Managing Partner Andrew Johnson said the appointments reflect the firm's focus on building depth across its national Corporate Advisory offering.

"Andrew's appointment strengthens our capability in a genuinely distinctive way. His background gives him a level of commercial fluency that most lawyers only develop after years of advising. Tiffany brings a rare combination of deep transactional experience and genuine trust from clients across every stage of their business. Their expertise is exactly the kind of depth we want as we expand our national practice."

With Andrew and Tiffany on board, AJ & Co continues to build the kind of national practice clients turn to at every stage of their business.
