AJ & Co Lawyers' Elana Szabo Named Young Gun 2026 Finalist in the WIRV Awards
AJ & Co Lawyers is proud to announce Elana Szabo has been named a finalist in the Women in Insolvency and Restructuring Victoria Awards, specifically the Young Gun 2026 Award, recognising outstanding early-career talent in the insolvency profession.
Admitted as a lawyer in April 2023, Elana has already demonstrated a level of capability, resilience, and professionalism well beyond her years of practice — an early marker of the qualities that make her an outstanding finalist.
Since joining AJ & Co Lawyers, Elana has been instrumental in growing the Melbourne office - contributing to the development of firm precedents, onboarding and mentoring new staff, and advising insolvency practitioners on complex, high-pressure matters.
Beyond her legal practice, Elana is Chair of the WIRV Professional Development Sub-Committee, where she coordinates ongoing education initiatives that give members of the profession free access to leading industry practitioners throughout the year. Within AJ & Co, she is also recognised as a generous mentor and a calm, steady presence for colleagues at every level, often staying back to support matters beyond her own workload.
"Elana embodies everything this award celebrates - technical excellence, resilience and a genuine commitment to the people and profession around her,"
said Caitlyn Hoey, who nominated Elana for the award.
"In just over three years of practice, she has achieved more than many lawyers do in far longer."
AJ & Co Lawyers congratulates Elana on this well-deserved recognition and wishes her the very best as a finalist for the Young Gun 2026 Award.
